The Human Services Department is governed and guided by a number of different committees which are reflected in this section of the website.  There may be other committees formed as the need arises to get input on specific issues but the committees in the section are the permanent committees.

Health & Human Services

The Human Services Board is comprised of the six members of the Racine County Health and Human Development Committee plus three citizen members appointed by the Racine County Executive.  All meetings are held at the Ives Grove Office Complex, County Board Conference Room, 14200 Washington Avenue, Sturtevant, WI 53177 at 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted in the agenda.

Family Support

The Family Support Committee oversees the Family Support Program.  The committee membership must be a majority of parents with children who are disabled, whether they receive funds or not.  This committee meets quarterly.

Long Term Support

This committee oversees the services funded by the Community Options Program and Medicaid Waiver.  These services support people who are elderly and need long term care needs, or are developmentally disabled, physically disabled, mentally ill, or have alcohol and substance abuse problems.  The committee typically meets monthly.

Commission on Aging

The Commission on Aging oversees the programs funded by the Older Americans Act.  These programs are the senior nutrition sites, home delivered meals, the benefit specialist, and some others.  The Commission must be made up of a majority of persons over age 60.  This committee usually meets monthly.
