Becoming a Foster ParentMinimize

The steps to becoming a licensed Foster Parent are as follows:

  • Email Michelle Rainey or call the foster care program at 262-638-6356 to request an application packet.
  • Review the packet.  Decide if you would like to apply to be a traditional foster home or a treatment foster home.  Return the application to the Foster Care Program
  • When your application is received, a licensing worker will contact you, sign you up for the foster parent training, and schedule two homes visits.
  • The home visits will consist of a home safety inspection and an explanation of the programs, policies and procedures.
  • Applicants receive their licenses once all of the necessary documentation is completed and approved.
  • Foster Parents will be eligible to accept foster placements in their home when they have completed the 36 hours of PACE training.
